Application for Harrisburg Softball Scholarship

hank you for your interest in the Harrisburg Softball Scholarship program.

Harrisburg Softball will be awarding two - $1000 scholarships to players participating in the Harrisburg Invitational Tournament or College Showcase; one for a student graduating high school in 2007 and one for a student graduating in 2008.

Please submit three copies of the attached application postmarked no later than midnight Saturday July 14, 2007 to:

The application will be evaluated solely on the information submitted, so please be complete in your responses. The top 5 individuals (in each graduating class) will be invited to an oral interview on Friday evening July 27^th. The scholarships will be awarded based upon the results of these oral interviews and will be announced on Saturday July 28, 2007.

The Scholarship awards will be made payable to the recipient and the institution of higher learning. The scholarship winner must present verification of acceptance and an address to which the award should be sent. The award will be sent directly to the institution of higher learning. The awards will be made no earlier than 60 days prior to the recipient’s scheduled first day of class at the institution of higher learning.

The award will be made in one payment directly to the institution. Winners of scholarships previously awarded through Harrisburg softball are ineligible.

4. Submit two letters of recommendation; one from a high school faculty member or principal, one from an adult non-family member.

5. Please list other high school and community activities

6. Submit an essay on the value of team sports (200 words or less).
